It’s official, we can no longer turn our backs on Charlie for even a second.  Because in that second, she’s half-way across the living room, climbing onto the coffee table and reaching for, well, whatever’s up there: cups, coasters, cellphones, utencils, etc.  It seems like in one week, Charlie went from sort of scooting inch by inch to lunging and crawling feet at a time.  It was actually in two weeks.

Life here has been busy.  Mostly chasing Charlie around the house taking things away from her.  What is it with babies and electrical cords?  She loves to try to bite the power cord to the laptop.  Hence the laptop has been put away most of the time.  She also chases the dog, a lot.  Yesterday she tried to bite the poor pup’s ear.  Georgie has been a trooper though.  The other day Charlie and Georgie were sitting next to each other, Charlie on a rug and Georgie on the hard wood.  Charlie pulled Georgie’s tail hard enough to move herself on the rug toward the dog.  Georgie did nothing.  Georgie still goes in for major face licking (and Charlie of course loves that, although Papi and I do not particularly care for Georgie licking Charlie’s open mouth…babies are gross). 

I digress. 

Charlie has also been standing up at the coffee table (most of the time she pulls herself up) and banging her toys on top of it.  She also loves to cruise sideways or turn around to hang onto the couch…or attack the dog.

All of this inevitably leads to wobbling, bumbing and falling.  Our baby’s new nickname is “Faceplant.”  She’s earned it, believe me.

Charlie has also discovered a fascinating organic substance, found just about everywhere on Earth: dirt!

I know I said she can stand up and I have not included any pictures of that, but I do have proof on video, which I will upload ASAP.
